The 2025 Select Management Conference, held in conjunction with  FSAC's Summit & Exhibitor Showcase, will take place
in Halifax, Nova Scotia,
June 16 – 18

We will gather on Monday, June 16 - a day before the FSAC event gets underway - for an exclusive Select program of networking and education that will begin with an opening lunch and include a unique Halifax evening offering a taste of local history and cuisine.

We are looking forward to bringing the Select network together, including several new partners, and to strengthen existing relationships while building new ones and learning from one another, in a relaxing and hospitable atmosphere. 

We promise, as always, to provide a good mixture of productive activity and memorable, fun experiences.

The Halifax Citadel, a superbly preserved 18th century fortification and national historic site, towers over downtown Halifax, to this day keeping watch over the harbour it was built to defend. 


Our All Inclusive Conference Package

As we typically do, Select is offering our partners a convenient conference package that includes almost everything except your travel. You get to Halifax and we’ll take care of it from there.

Your Select Management Conference fee includes:

  • Accommodations
  • Select programming
  • Registration for the FSAC program
  • Most meals

You only have to register with us - we do the rest.

You DO NOT have to register with FSAC       
or make reservations with the hotel.                          .

Accommodations 

We will be staying at the Marriott Residence Inn directly across the street from the Convention Centre and right in the heart of downtown Halifax.

The hotel offers free wifi, a fitness centre, a convenience store and a complimentary breakfast.

We anticipate that most will arrive on Monday and depart on Thursday but our room block does include some availability on Sunday for those who may wish or need to arrive earlier. The registration form allows you to choose alternate dates.

Limited parking is available on-site for a daily charge of $25. (6' 1" height restriction. Charges not included in registration.) While we're told there should be sufficient space to accommodate the number of vehicles we expect, this can't be guaranteed, but there are other parking options within a short walk.

Incidentals: Each guest will be required to provide a credit card upon check-in to cover any incidental charges (such as parking) other than room and tax which are included in your registration.         .


Select Sessions

After our welcome lunch we get down to work. A short walk from the restaurant will take us to Halifax's beautiful new Central Library on Spring Garden Road, where we have meeting space reserved.

The Next Generation

We are delighted to announce that Lisa Smith will be joining us for our afternoon sessions. Lisa is a faculty member with the Funeral and Allied Health Services program at the Nova Scotia Community College and has been training funeral service professionals for most of the past three decades. With recruiting a pressing issue for many of us, we have asked Lisa to share her insights into who is entering the profession, the traits of those who are successfully completing  the program, and what they are looking for as they begin their careers. Valuable information if you are hoping to attract the best and brightest. 

Financial Advantages.

While each Select Partner firm is an independent business, our network relationship strengthens our collective bargaining power with our financing partners.  We'll hold a discussion on leveraging the strength of the group for financial advantage.            


Transportation

Flying?

For those flying in, your destination is Halifax Stanfield International Airport (YHZ). Served by Air Canada, Porter and Westjet, Stanfield is approximately 35 minutes from our hotel. There are a variety of flights available from Toronto, Ottawa and St. John's that will arrive in plenty time on Monday morning to have you in downtown Halifax in time for lunch. Just to be extra sure you find your way to The Stubborn Goat, we are hoping to have someone meeting most flights that morning and as many as we can on Sunday. We'll get details out to those who indicate they are flying. [Arrange transfers here.]

Don't wait! - We do encourage you to book your travel soon so as not to be disappointed. We note that some flights that day are already filling up.

Fees & Registration

Delegate Fee:                              $1,700.00*   +HST
    All Select & FSAC events, 3 night's accommodation

2nd Delegate Fee:                      $1,000.00*   +HST   
    2nd delegate sharing your accommodations.

Guest Fee:                                    $   600.00  +HST  
    All Select & FSAC events for a non-industry significant
    other sharing your accommodations.

FSAC Fun Night (Optional)      $     49.00  +HST  

A deposit of $500 per delegate and $250 per guest will be due upon submission of your registration. The balance of your fees will be due on June 16. Select accounting support staff will arrange internal transfer of all fees.
